A joint meeting with Norfolk Moth Survey.
Meet at 20.30 at meet-up point TF 71868 10851, which is a small car-parking area down a no-through road called Hogg’s Drove near Donato’s Pizza & Kebab House on the main road through the small village of Marham. The site is called a fen, and there are small remnants of fen vegetation to which we will pay special attention. These include a reedbed, a sedge bed and areas of mixed tall herbs and forbs. The remainder of the site contains large areas of diverse grassland and secondary woodland with areas of mature trees. This is the second BENHS field meeting at this site. A full illustrated report of the first, in 2019, can be found in BJENH 33. Species we will be particularly looking for include Mere Wainscot, Oblique Carpet, Dotted Fan-foot, Garden Tiger and perhaps even a late Concolorous.
