A variety of sites either side of the Everleigh to Netheravon minor road in the eastern part of Salisbury Plain military training area, Wiltshire.
Point & Time: 7pm at the first possible trapping site at the parking area at the first bend in the road south of Everleigh, south of Everleigh Down and north-west of Weather Hill Firs at OS grid ref. SU20509E52722N. A safety briefing is required.
Other trapping locations:
Second site: South of the road and above it and north of a wooded & scrubby area at the tank crossing on chalk grassland at OS grid ref. SU19423E 51878N, approx. three-quarters of a mile west of Weather Hill.
Third and fourth sites: both sides of the road south and west of Beaches’ Plantation at OS grid ref. SU180504S178505N.
On arrival at trapping site: Visitors will need to inspect their chosen site so that they can set their trapping site and walking areas away from any discarded military debris, e.g. old flare canisters.
Issues: The MOD has given permission for this meeting to take place and it is understood to be within their annual close-down period. However, on these sites there is always the risk of short notice military training taking place. If this occurs either an alternative site will be chosen, or the meeting would have to be cancelled, so it is essential to contact the leader, Stephen Miles in advance, if you intend to come to it.
All records must be provided to the leader eventually for the meeting report and to give to the MOD, as the landowner. No children or dogs please.
