Tachinidae identification workshop

16th March 2019

Matt Smith (Winnersh) and Chris Raper (Reading). An introduction to the ‘Parasitic flies’ which by their habits, numbers and often striking colouration and shape makes these members of the Diptera an interesting group to find out more about. On the day you will be introduced to sampling and identifying Tachinidae, with new draft keys for a revised RES Handbook available for testing and the chance to have your specimens checked and verified by the organisers of the National Recording Scheme which has taken these flies from a fringe interest to something that more and more people are keen to try out. For more information on Tachinidae and the recording scheme see: http://tachinidae.org.uk/
