BENHS REGIONAL MEETING AT HAMPSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL MUSEUMS SERVICE, WINCHESTER

ENTOMOLOGY: PAST, PRESENT & FUTURE

Winchester meeting logo

This one-day meeting includes presentations on local Hampshire topics combined with themes of broader interest to many entomologists, as well as giving an opportunity to view the collections and facilities for visitors, and to meet with other entomologists.

The meeting will be held at Hampshire County Council Museums Service, Chilcomb House, Chilcomb Lane, Winchester, Hampshire SO23 8RD.

Chilcomb House is on the South-East corner of Winchester close to junction 10 of the M3.  Travel by train: Chilcomb House is approximately 2 miles from Winchester train station.  There are regular buses (every 15 minutes at peak times) from outside the train station to St Catherine’s Park & Ride which is close to junction 10 of the M3.  From here it is a 5 minute walk crossing Bar End Road into Chilcomb Lane.  Travel by car: M3 northbound – Exit at J10, signposted to Winchester, Bar End.  At the roundabout with traffic lights, take the second exit into Bar End Road.  As you go over the bridge there is the right turn into Chilcomb Lane.  M3 southbound – Exit at J9 and join the A272 (A31) to Winchester.  Follow the A272 parallel with the M3 and at the roundabout go straight over to join the A31.  At the next roundabout keep left to stay on the A31 into Winchester.  The road passes under the M3.  At the roundabout with traffic lights, take the second exit into Bar End Road.  As you go over the bridge there is the right turn into Chilcomb Lane.  Please take care as Chilcomb Lane is narrow and residential. The Chilcomb House site is well signposted at the end of the lane but please be careful as you drive through the narrow gateway.  There is plenty of free onsite parking in the marked bays around the perimeter of the large courtyard.
