This paper has been produced by Mike Taylor at World Museum Liverpool and describes a set up for taking digital images of set specimens and also provides many examples of the results that can be achieved.
Mike is happy for anyone to use images in the paper without prior consent for non commercial purposes, as long as they acknowledge his authorship of images in any publications involved.
The paper can also be obtained from Mike’s own web site at www.miketaylornaturalist.co.uk in a wider range of formats and sizes.
To help encourage the recording of moths in the Scottish Highlands, the BENHS has grant-aided purchase by the RSPB of a lightweight generator and Robinson MV trap for use by BENHS members on the Insh Marshes and in the Cairngorm area generally.
This can be booked for use by contacting the RSPB Insh Marshes (01540 661518). It is housed and collected at the RSPB Ivy Cottage in the small village of Insh. Contact RSPB for further details and conditions of use, two of which are that land-owners permission must always be obtained before the trap is operated and a copy of all records be submitted to RSPB.
