Aspects of Defence Mechanisms in Lepidoptera

Barry is a retired GP with a lifelong interest in butterflies and moths. He is co-author of the Field Guide to the Caterpillars of Great Britain and Ireland.

In his talk he will explore some aspects of how moths and butterflies avoid predation during the larval stage, with a focus on camouflage and mimicry, including snake mimicry.
