RECORD INSECTS AND STAY FREE AT GITE BARRAU, TARN-ET-GARONNE, IN SOUTH-WEST FRANCE

Since 2002 more than 20 UK experts including spouses and partners have stayed at Barrau, Tarn-et-Garonne, taking up the offer of free gite accommodation (bar food * transport) in exchange for a copy of their field notes. Pdfs of published reports which give a lot of background information are attached together with a pdf about local food.

So we now have baseline studies which could be used for reference. Also available for loan whilst here is a Skinner 20W mains mothtrap plus a couple of sweep nets. And a pair of waders if you are size 42 or less.

We have no records on small (or big) mammals, mushrooms/toadstools, mosquitoes, leeches, bees, wasps, ants, Diptera, ticks, galls, snails or algae. The Tarn et Garonne is under-reported. Toulouse an hour away. There are 2, on-site dogs (friendly), a Boarding Cattery (they aren’t allowed out) and a house cat (is allowed out).
