I have enough specimens of this species and would like to hope it is establishing itself here. Other VC17 records I know of, from 2023, are from Send, Thursley Common and Dawcombe. 73.191 Agrochola haematidea (Duponchel, 1827). Thursley Common, Surrey (VC17); SU90054143. 1 x 2023 at mv. First Surrey record as far as I can check. We had permission to trap and to collect critical specimens- mostly material we couldn’t identify in the field. We recorded Trichoptera and craneflies (as listed in Stubbs, 2021- BENHS), too- almost entirely as by-catch. If anyone is interested in searching-and recording for these or other insects more systematically, please contact me.
